Unless your 22" barrel is a bad shooter, leave it alone. There won't be enough of a performance increase to make it worthwhile. If you really want an improvement, buy a new rifle in .300 Win. Mag.
The easiest way to improved performance in your rifle is Hornady's Light Magnum ammo. It will give you 3100 feet per second with a 150-grain bullet, same as a 7mm Remington magnum.
