Raft/Paddle boat advice (Sciency question!)?
I'm looking to build a novelty race raft/paddle boat for 4 people (320kgs), driven by 2 cut down bicycle frames to drive a paddle "axle" at the rear so add (20kgs? tops?) Using 2x modified 2.5m aluminium pool fence panels as a base, (10-15kgs?) plus a couple of plastic chairs etc thinking combined weight of maybe 400kg maximum...?
How many cubic inches/feet of air would I need in barrels/bottles in a catamaran style hull set up to float 400kg? Keeping in mind I want to be high enough to have the base out of the water, but the paddles in the water...
