Hardware installation problems?
My scanner, printer and camera programmes all stopped working (all working without problems for over 2 years) some desktop icons disappeared. Tried uninstalling but revo uninstaller either couldnt find program or was unable to uninstall it.neither could windows add/remove programmes. Eventually found and deleted programmes in safe mode and cleared registry. Tried to reinstall scanner from original cd but quicklaunch icons went down a black hole and only part of programmes appeared on all programmes, neither scanner or HP image zone would work and imagezone came up with runtime error 203 at 032B2A00.

2. In the console tree, click Event Viewer.

In the console tree, expand Event Viewer, and then click the log that contains the event that you want to view.
In the details pane, double-click the event that you want to view.
This should tell you if it is an actual hardware issue. I don't recommend re installing your OS.
