According to Sheriff Mark Dion, the theft occurred between the late night and early morning hours of March 4 and 5 at 54 Bayou Road. In addition to the pale-yellow Packard, a 1994 maroon GMC 3500 four-door pickup truck and a black 1994 Pace American Trailer were stolen. The Packard was inside the trailer at the time of the theft, and the trailer was attached to the truck.

The truck, described as having a custom paint job which fades from bottom to top, is registered in the state of Florida. The trailer, also registered in Florida, has Harley Davidson and Triumph motorcycle stickers on the bumper and is 26 feet long.

The owner is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, conviction, and recovery of the vehicles.
