The one-of-a-kind gold and platinum plated, diamond studded Aston Martin DB7 (above) that my colleague Laura Malesich wrote about earlier this month has been put up for sale in London with a pricetag of £95,000, or about $140,000, the UK Auto Trader reports. The car was originally created for Prince Francesco Ruspoli of Italy by London-based company Alchemist, and took six craftsmen one month to complete. In addition to its precious plating, the Aston, conceived in homage to James Bond, has a black and grey leather interior and golden burr walnut dashboard.

Aston Martin’s One-77 super car was confirmed as a 7.0-litre bearer by Aston CEO Dr Ulrich Bez in the car’s promotional video. The second technical target was 700 bhp which Bez also said was likely as he emphasized the “art” and experience of One-77 more than its performance figures. At a time when stock markets are tumbling, people are losing their jobs and the auto industry is struggling to make ends meet, there’s one company that’s as good as gold: Alchemist. You may remember the London-based firm from our previous story on the gold-plated roofs - if you don’t. Aston Martin said it would have a “property” here in Paris, and indeed it did. The Aston Martin One-77 made its “debut,” but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the British automaker’s $1,000,000+ super coupe.

Judging by the limited upskirt shots in our gallery, the length of the One-77 easily surpasses the DB9 and the stylized front end, with blacked-out headlamps, ensures that the One-77 will spend more time in the comfy confines of heated and carpeted garages then out on the track where it’s 7.3-liter V12, carbon fiber monocoque and massive brakes will be put to good use.

Aston Martin Project One-77 Teaser Shot No2

Feeding the blogosphere’s never-ending need for stories, Aston Martin has officially joined the growing club of auto manufacturers that have decided its better off teasing in installments than fully revealing a future model. This is the second teaser snapshot of the British firm’s new Project One-77 that was initially announced last month. Aston Martin’s new limited production supercar will be based on a new carbon fibre monocoque body structure with power being provided from a new 7.3-liter V12 engine estimated to develop over 700 HP. The two-door, two-seat sports coupe will feature a maximum speed in excess of 200mph or 320 km/h. As Aston Martin’s initial working title name suggests, production will be limited up to a maximum of 77 individually numbered examples, with deliveries expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2009.
