Project Kahn does the Audi R8. Kahn lowers the suspension and slaps on 20′ F1-X rims made of lightweight carbon fiber.
Afzal Kahn is a busy guy. He’s CEO of Kahn Design and head of Project Kahn, which brings us this Audi R8. He’s also working on Kahn Pizza delivery, which promises to deliver your pizza in a supercar over 200,000 dollars in value or your money back.
Anyway, Project Kahn does the Audi R8. Kahn lowers the suspension and slaps on 20″ F1-X rims made of lightweight carbon fiber. There are no more details than that, just the pic.
Project Kahn says on its website that, “You do not need to worry about the engine,” referring to Audi’s 4.2 liter FSI, 414 hp (309 kW) V8. Which we can interpret to mean that there won’t be any engine tuning to this Kahn creation.
But maybe Kahn has a point. Sometimes tuning squeezes too much out of an engine and takes away its suppleness and character. A 3.77kg/hp ratio is very respectable territory for a supercar and, to paraphrase the late Paul Newman, avid race driver, its the driver that makes the car.

According to Motor Authority, Audi has released official sketches of some upcoming vehicles that are currently gestating in the German brand’s product pipeline. The first is the A5 Cabrio, though we don’t need a sketch to know that it will look exactly like the A5 Coupe but with a folding soft top. Next up is the A5 Sportback, a four-door coupish type thing that we expect will get in the way of A4 sales just like the CC does for the Passat over at Volkswagen. Then we have the A7, which is a four-door coupe like the A5 Sportback, just larger and with a normal trunk instead of a rear hatch. And finally we have the car you see above, the next-gen A8, which looks much more aggressive than the current model with “angry eye” headlights, a large singular grille and sharp creases all around. Still up for Audi after these models come to market are more versions of the R8 supercar, including a convertible and V10-powered variant, and the A1 minicar for Europe. Continued

We’ve seen Audi taking off in sales over the past few years, flying low with bullets like the RS4, RS6 and R8 and staying afloat in times of hardship. Soon we might see the company taking these metaphors literally if this Calamaro Concept is any indication. Like its name which sounds like an intimate meeting between Camaro and calamari, the Calamaro seems to combine a car, plane, and something of aquatic abilities. Continued

Matte colors are becoming extremely popular lately among enthusiasts and this is something that doesn’t go by unnoticed from large tuning houses like ABT. The German customization firm not only presented a matte black film for the Q7 SUV but it also took a step further by introducing a new matte black carbon-fiber wrap that’s available for the AS4, AS7 and R8 ABT vehicles as well as for the standard factory Audi A4, Q7 and R8 models. In both cases the film covers the bodywork from top to bottom. Continued

Why on earth would someone design a speedboat inspired from the Audi R8? Well, if we didn’t know better, we’d say that the catamaran’s designer probably wanted to style cars but instead ended up in the shipping business as the R8 Catamaran is Bo Zolland’s second automobile-inspired speedboat after the 1963 Corvette Stingray lookalike catamaran According to the Swedish designer, the 8.8 meter long R8 speedboat has been designed to use a V10 biodiesel marine engine or two smaller 320 HP diesel units helping it to achieve a theoretical top speed of 110 MPH. The Audi A8 is understated and elegant…but its design is a little long in the tooth. It stays as is for model year 2009, but a significant revision is due for 2010, and we should expect to see that car unveiled sometime during the upcoming show season. Thanks the Gulf4Cars forum, we might have our first look at what to expect. Our Arabic’s a little rusty, so we don’t know where these scans (at least they appear to be scans) came from, but they look fairly solid, so let’s comment on what we can see.
Inside, there are some immediately noticeable changes. Yes, the design themes are typical Audi fare, but the control arrangement has been rethought. A restyled shifter is now located farther back and closer to the driver on the center console. It looks kinda lonely there now, because the main MMI controller and audio functions have been relocated to the angled console extension under the climate controls — where the ashtray lives on the current car. It’ll be interesting to see how this works in practice, because while the audio and MMI interface placements in the current A8 family may seem unorthodox, they’re actually easy to use.
