This 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, built by Joe’s Street Rod Shop, should be nicknamed the “speeding bullet” since it has been modded to achieve 1,350 horsepower, with its blown 572-ci Chrysler Hemi. The car has all of the luxury touches you would expect from a Royce, including full leather, Vintage Air A/C, four TVs and a jar of Grey Poupon. Underneath it’s a full tilt boogie runner with a Chris Austin chassis, Air Ride, Wilwood brakes, full tubs and Billet Specialties Riviera wheels.

Credit crunch, what credit crunch? Maybe for us, but not for the rich and richer. While most automakers are in the process of tightening their collective belt, Rolls Royce is seeing its sales soar this year and it’s getting ready to hire more workers to keep up with demand. Last month the British brand delivered 129 cars which represents growth of 7,5 percent compared to the same month in 2007. From January through September of this year, BMW Group-owned Rolls-Royce has delivered a total 827 vehicles to customers, achieving a gain of 42.8% over the previous year (579 units). Continued

Love it or loathe it, this is Pininfarina’s latest creation that is based on the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe. Although we’d like to see the Hyperion in real life before we make any conclusions, we must say that these official renderings make us wonder if Pininfarina has lost its touch. In any case, the Hyperion which was created as a one-off for an unnamed wealthy car collector, will make its official debut the Concours d’Elegance classic car show at Pebble Beach in California on August 17th. Pininfarina hasn’t released any details yet, but expect the Hyperion to use the same 6.75-litre V12 engine as the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe.

This is the first picture of Pininfarina’s Hyperion that will make its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours classic car show in Monterey, California on August 13. The Hyperion is a one-off coach-built model that was commissioned by an unnamed and apparently, very rich enthusiast. Based on the Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe, the Hyperion is supposed to pay homage to the great pre war cars with its style, size and overall presence.

The conservative looks employed by all models in the Rolls Royce brand have always failed to truly excite me. That was until today when we received a few pictures of this extravagantly styled model in our inbox which we are told is a $1,000,000 highly modded 1995 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit MKIV. Closer inspection shows a roofline reminiscent of the Nissan 350Z leading us to believe the Japanese sportscar provides the base with a Rolls Royce Grille attached to the front.
Of course crazy modifications like this one in not unheard of in coachbuilder circles, you may remember something similar by a Lithuanian specialist based on the Mercedes CL Class.

David Beckham was spotted cruising Beverly Hills with his three sons in his all-new, already fully customized Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead. The Drophead rolls on custom-built 24-inch Savini Forged wheels, color-matched exterior trim and Beckham’s “23” embroidered onto the seats. Redefining “bespoke”, Beckham gives the Drophead a more aggressive, yet elegant look.
In 2004, Rolls-Royce unveiled its 100EX, an experimental drophead built to celebrate 100 years of the brand. In its two world tours, the 100EX received positive feedback from customers, and in 2005 the brand announced that a production version would be available by 2007.
