SEMA 2008: Mobil1 Porsche 996 Turbo

The 996 Porsche Turbo is old news, but that didn’t stop Theory Communication and Design and iForged Wheels from whipping up a version that makes us quiver slightly, even though it’s green. Artisan stuffed 650 horses under that rear wing with its turbo upgrade package, and the TechArt GT Street wide body rear kit has a beautiful carbon diffuser and ample ports for viewing the intercoolers. The car’s speed is held in check by yellow Brembo calipers restrained behind iForged wheels, and your own speed will be held in check by the 5-point harness on the Porsche-logoed Sparco seats.

SEMA Preview: Street Scene Equipment F-150

aftermarket, f-150, ford, ford f-150, ford f-150 lariat, FordF-150, FordF-150Lariat, pickup, pickup trucks, PickupTrucks, sema, street scene, street scene equipment, StreetScene, StreetSceneEquipment, tuners

Custom truck lovers, it doesn’t matter that the whole world might seem to be against you, you will not be forgotten at this year’s SEMA. Performance West will be bringing a hotted up F-150 and F-350, and now Street Scene Equipment rumbles onto the stage with it’s own entrant, a juiced up 2009 F-150 Lariat.

The SSE job appears to be a little more subdued than the Performance West numbers, but that might just be down to the lack of racing stripes. The Lariat will of course be dropped, because you can’t even call it a tuning job if the truck is more than an inch above the ground. After that, the exterior gets new front and rear bumpers and skirts, new mirrors, a bed cap, a tailgate wing, and some of DuPont ’s Hot Hues to make it all shiny, among other things.

Inside will be the standard rolling theater treatment: headrest video monitors and a “high-end infotainment system” from Audio Innovations. In keeping with the restrained theme, engine mods looks to be limited to an Air Raid intake and a new exhaust. Subtle ain’t such a bad thing, though — we gotta admit we’re digging that grille.

Loder1899’s sport package for 2009 Jaguar XF

Loder1899’s sport package for the Jaguar XF will be officially introduced at the “Tuning World Bodensee 2008” in Germany. (May 1 to 4) It consists of subtle cosmetic upgrades along with a kit for the 2.7-liter V6 diesel engine. The Bavarian tuner’s bodykit for the XF includes a front apron, an understated rear spoiler and a “diffuser-style” rear apron complemented with a suspension lowering kit (-35mm) and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/35 R20 tires. As for the 2.7 V6 TD versions, thanks to the modified engine management control, power is increased from 207Hp to 249Hp, thus allowing the Jag to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7,6 seconds versus the standard car’s 8,2 seconds. The full Loder1899 sport package for the XF 2.7 V6 TD is available for €7,898 / $12,324 but that doesn’t include assembly and painting.

D3 Cadillac CTS

Aftermarket, Tuners, Sedans/Saloons, Cadillac

Push comes to shove, the Cadillac CTS is one of the sharpest-looking sports sedans on the market. But that doesn’t mean that room for improvement is missing… subjective though that may be. D3 Cadillac definitely sees it that way, and to that end has come out with a full aero kit for the crisp Caddy.

D3’s kit places a heavy emphasis on downforce, fitting a front splitter, roof spoiler, deck spoiler and diffuser to be extra sure that the CTS stays planted on the boulevard. The kit also includes a new front end with bigger vents for keeping the engine and front brakes cool, plus side skirts, a shiny new grille and, of course, big ol’ rims to cap it all off. A ‘Vette-powered CTS-V she ain’t, but the D3 kit enhances the CTS’ lines and improves airflow for those wanting a sharper Caddy than the ones down at the country club. Check out the info in the press release after the jump and the images in the gallery below for all the angles. We’ve already asked the models in the shots to move so we could see the car better, but they aren’t budging.

Ferrari 630 Scuderia

Aftermarket, Tuners, Supercars, Ferrari

lthough you wouldn’t recognize it from the name, the 630 Scuderia is based on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. Using Edo’s existing 630 GTB – whose engine more closely resembles the high-strung unit from the FXX than the “stock” 599’s Enzo-derived powerplant – and upgrades it with a new aerodynamic kit designed to optimize the cooling and airflow around the vehicle. There’s a sharply-styled front end with bigger vents that help cool the brakes, with an integrated lip spoiler increasing downforce. Underneath and around back, a new aerodynamic undertray and widened six-blade diffuser help optimize stability, aided by the new side skirts. All the components are made from carbon fiber, cutting curb weight down by.

The New Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLK Brabus

Aftermarket, Tuners, Convertibles, Coupes, Mercedes Benz

Brabus hasn’t wasted any time tuning the new Mercedes-Benz SLK, and is bringing its normal blend of aero mods and engine tweaks to those unable to keep their new SLK stock for long. Brabus opted to yank out the SLK 55 AMG’s 5.5-liter V8 and fitted its own 6.1-liter mill that cranks out 445 hp and 468 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed automatic gearbox and down to Brabus’ own LSD. Zero-to-60 times drop to 4.3-seconds, while six-piston aluminum calipers clamp 355 mm slotted discs up front and four-piston calipers with 300 mm rotors in the rear end the party before things get out of hand.

Naturally, some new rollers are part of the equation, with optional 17-, 18- or 19-inch wheels tucked into the fenders with a 30 mm drop provided by new Brabus sports springs. The visual mods are wrapped up with a wind tunnel-tested front spoiler, rear apron and trunk lid wing, while four chrome exhaust tips hint at the SLK’s new found power.
