Ferrari Powered 1960 Rambler Wagon up for Sale

After grabbing this year’s desirable Riddler street rod award at the 2008 Detroit Autorama, the owners of the car, Tim Divers from Divers Street Rods and Mike Warn, decided to depart with the Ferrambo and put it up for sale on GP Imports. Although there’s no specific asking price, we gather that this one-of-a-kind street rod isn’t won’t come cheap.

The Ferrambo was created by combining a custom-made body from 1960 Nash Rambler Wagon with a rear-mounted 3.6-liter V8 engine matted to a 6-speed manual gearbox that came out of a 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena Donor car. Tim Divers and Mike Warn also completely overhauled the Rambler’s interior giving it a Ferrari-look. Other modifications include the Ferrari Unequal Wishbone front and rear suspension, the one-off machined 18×8.5 front and 20×10 rear wheels and an ultra cool custom luggage style trunk under the hood.

Datsun 240Z - Fairlady Z Retro Concept with a Touch of GT-R

Classics, Nissan, Nissan 350Z, Nissan GT-R, Renderings

Looks like the Datsun XLink concept that was created by Benjamin Nawka at Nissan’s Yulon Design Center  has given birth to a newly found interest for the long-gone Japanese brand. This modern interpretation of the iconic Datsun 240Z / Fairlady Z of the 1970s is the work of a Polish designer Jacek Kolodziejczyk who goes by the alias ‘Iacoski. The Fairlady Z Concept study combines the classic lines of the original 240Z with several design elements from the new Nissan GT-R such as the front grille, the side air vents and the headlamps. And while it may never go into production, the end result is pretty dang cool.

Woodward 2008: The Classics

classics, woodward, woodward dream cruise, woodward2008, WoodwardDreamCruise

Who could have imagined back in 1957 that so many contemporary Chevrolet Bel Airs would still be driving the roads of America a half century later. Something about those models seems to compel their owners to preserve them and then bring them out for cruise nights all these decades later. They aren’t the only cars being preserved, as the classics that participated in yesterday’s Dream Cruise clearly demonstrate. Check out the best classics we came across on Woodward Ave. in the gallery below. See photos after the jump Continued

Pininfarina Hyperion

 Classics, Pininfarina, Renderings, Rolls Royce

Love it or loathe it, this is Pininfarina’s latest creation that is based on the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe. Although we’d like to see the Hyperion in real life before we make any conclusions, we must say that these official renderings make us wonder if Pininfarina has lost its touch. In any case, the Hyperion which was created as a one-off for an unnamed wealthy car collector, will make its official debut the Concours d’Elegance classic car show at Pebble Beach in California on August 17th. Pininfarina hasn’t released any details yet, but expect the Hyperion to use the same 6.75-litre V12 engine as the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe.
