These images are of the coupe version which has grown in importance since they have continued their CLK badging and have basically turned the CLK into this E-Class Coupe. The images reveal that Mercedes has made gradual changes rather than anything that is a total redesign of the vehicle. One change appears to be the higher curve along the horizontal length of the body of the car as well as a more muscular hunch above the rear wheels. Look for the E-Class coupe to come with Mercedes’ latest 204-hp turbodiesel Bluetec, an AMG version with the 550-hp V8 and might also have the BlueHybrid that Mercedes has been working on. The new E-Class sedan will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March of next year.

There are many hot opinions floating around at the moment about the Scion Hako concept car and must say I am going to squash those who thinks it is ugly, come on people you have got to be on another planet because this car is class. Ok I need not bang on about the Scion Hako concept car because it will never go into production now will it.Are you one of those people who thinks the Scion Hako concept car is aesthetically appealing or aesthetically a balls-up? In the automobile world we love our car, it is part of our lives and yes we do care about the looks, the design, features, gizmos etc and this one has it all. This car is in a class of its own, and you have to admit you have not seen any other car like this one. This car does not sit on either side of the good looking fence nor the ugly fence, you either love it or hate it and it is as simple as that in my eyes, and my eyes say it is stunning. The Scion Hako concept car was released at the New York Auto Show back in March 2008 and there are two noticeable things that stand out, and that is the design and the in your face color which is bright orange.
I have an idea where this car can become so famous, can you imagine seeing this car in a Disney Pixar movie, like the movie “Cars”. It is also called the Hako Coupe because of its coupe design, by the way. The windows on this car give you a 360 angle view on the car when you are on the inside, well this is what it looks like from the outside, and the Scion Hako’s headlights are in stunning LED which is a big plus for driving at night. LED lights provide great virtually natural light that is better for seeing than the conventional and standard headlights that have an ugly yellow tint to it. The Hako’s headlights seem to be very wide which makes it even better than most standard cars. My judgement on the Scion Hako concept car is that it looks futuristic but yet modern and I would indeed purchase one because I really do like the look of them, plus I would get one just to annoy the hell out of those that hate it.

Nissan to take on the Toyota/Subaru alliance with a sub-2.0L sports coupe… and arrive sooner. Last year we reported on the existence of a Toyota/Subaru lightweight sports car which was music to the ears of AE86 or ‘Hachi Roku’ fans around the world who have been eagerly awaiting a successor to their much loved and much respected small car. Well Nissan isn’t going to let such a move by Toyota go unanswered with the news that there is a test mule undergoing trials at the moment based on the new Z-car platform with a 2.0L NA, or possibly a 1.6 - 1.8L turbo engine.
Initial reports stated that the Toyota/Subaru FR sports car would enter the market in early 2010, but that has since been put back to 2011. The biggest news is that Nissan are aiming to beat Toyota and bring their new FR sports competitor to market in the ‘latter half’ of 2010. Nissan have acknowledged the lack of an entry level sports car to appeal to younger buyers and this new FR based coupe is being designed with “enjoyable handling” in mind to keep them from turning to other manufacturers. The size of the car closely resembles the previous S15 Silvia, the new FR coupe’s dimensions being 4350mm in length, 1750mm in width and with a wheelbase identical to the the new Fairlady/350 Z platform of 2550mm. As with the Toyota/Subaru sports car, the new Nissan compact FR sports coupe will attempt to keep weight at a minimum, although the extent of which is unknown at present.
It’s possible that a 2.0L NA engine with a higher output will power the compact FR sports car range, with totally new 1.6L or 1.8L direct injection turbo engines also being considered for the task. The smaller capacity turbo engines are looking favorable at this point, largely due to the inclusion of Nissan’s VCR (Variable Compression Ratio) Piston-Crank System which will improve fuel economy - like that of a small capacity NA engine around town - and also provide high power when needed. The VCR equipped 1.6L turbo engine was mentioned along with the Roundbox concept at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show so it could very well make it into the compact FR sports coupe. Best Car calculates that around 150ps will be available in high compression mode, with anything up to 225ps in low compression turbocharged mode.
