In 007’s new adventure that opens in UK and French cinemas on October 31st, with the rest of the world following in November 2008, Ford’s new KA mini makes a cameo appearance by the side of Camille played by Olga Kurylenko. Attempting to reach out to customers that like to really stand out from the crowd, Ford performed the debut of three special factory-fitted packs called Digital, Tatoo and Grand Prix for its all-new Ka minicar at the Paris motorshow. The most vibrant package of them all is without doubt the ‘Digital’ that uses a high-contrast green as the base color for the interior and exterior of the car.
If you’re looking to add o sportier touch there’s the Grand Prix theme with a chequered flag motif based on either a red or white exterior colour scheme while the less funky Tatoo package adds tribal-style tattoo designs (with a heart in the center…) on various parts of the outer body as wells as in the interior. Ford said that all three option packs are available only on the standard Zetec trim and that prices will be announced closer to the Ka’s official launch date. The second generation of the baby of Ford’s European lineup is going kinetic when it arrives later this year. The new Ka shares a platform with the Fiat 500 and Panda, but it has a look totally in keeping with its stablemates. The kinetic design language common to other current Euro-Fords translates remarkably well to the diminutive dimensions. The Ka will be built at Fiat’s assembly plant in Poland. Ford’s mini-car will also share engines with the Italian-branded cars. Four cylinder engines of 1.3L MultiJet diesel or 1.2L gasoline varieties will be offered. The new Ka will debut in November of this year. For now at least there are no plans to offer the Ka in the U.S. market.
