The folks at DVice have convincingly turned our attention to Icon’s new A5, a $139,000 aircraft that can land on water as well as land and was designed by Kirk Hawkins. For the record, Hawkins is a former Air Force pilot and Stanford Business School Graduate who started Icon in 2005 in Southern California.

Icon has already built such incredible aircraft’s as the X Prize-winning SpaceshipOne and with the A5 is looking to bring modern aviation to the masses in a nice and tidy package. With a top speed of 140 mph, you’ll need roughly 20 hours of flight training to man this vehicle but you’ll be restricted to flying it during the day at less than 10,000 feet.

Available in 2010, the A5 even comes equipped with its own parachute in case you muck things up.
