The Sport Wagon takes the largely acclaimed styling of the CTS and adds a rear hatch allowing much more stuff to be carried. The design team led by Clay Dean has done more than just graft a longer roof onto the sedan. They extended the roof-line back and the tail-lights up to the roof, as well as adding hidden rails in the roof line. The V shape of the grille is also replicated in the contours of the tailgate. The wagon ends up with 25 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the seats. Cadillac expects about 60 percent of CTS sales in Europe will be the wagon while only 20 percent of Americans will opt for the new body style when it goes on sale in the spring of 2009.

For more than a decade, Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival party has kicked off the Pebble Beach weekend in style. The event brings together the who’s who of the automotive world, and guests are wined and dined alongside some of the world’s most impressive machinery. The display of automobiles was particularly exceptional this year with an incredible collection of supercars and priceless classic. Jim Glickenhaus was kind enough to bring out his one-off Pininfarina P4/5 that was displayed alongside a Ferrari Formula 1 car, and we were treated to a pair of Bugatti Veyrons as well as two Koenigsegg CCXs, not to mention a 1-of-20 Lamborghini Reventon. We were also able to make an interesting comparison of the brand new Corvette ZR1 and a Pratt and Miller C6RS that sat back to back. We made sure to take plenty of photographs, and you can browse through them in the high-resolution gallery below. See photos after the jump Continued

Bugatti Veyron Targa to debut at Pebble Beach

According to InsideLine, Bugatti plans to unveil its Targa variant of the Veyron next month at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California. The open-air hyper-car will use a removable hardtop, while a fabric cover can be used in its place if the heavens decide to open up mid-jaunt. IL is reporting that the chassis will be heavily reinforced to cope with the loss of the crucial structural component. Production will begin next year along side the Targa’s fixed-roof predecessor, and with the current Veyron going for around $2 million, don’t expect to get your 217-mph (limited) top speed kicks without paying another $250,000 on top of the Veyron’s base-price.
