Elegance, discreet sportiness and understatement have always been characteristics of British cars. However German tuning house Arden hasn’t quite taken these into consideration while tuning Land Rover’s Range Rover, giving it an aggressive new look and the performance to match.
The Arden Range Rover AR7 puts out no less than 520hp from the supercharged V8 it houses thanks to an increase in capacity to 4.5L and a high-performance twin-screw charger. Together with 701Nm of torque the British powerhouse completes the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.5 seconds and is capable of reach speeds in excess of 240km/h. Helping the engine breathe better is a new stainless steel sport exhaust system specially made for the AR7, which is distinguished by a deep and burly sound as well as a unique tailpipe design.
Styling changes consist of a 6cm wider front apron, hand-made stainless steel grill and air vents, LED daytime running lights, pumped wheel guards, side skirts and a new rear apron. The final touch is a set of 22 or optional 23in wheels housing six-piston caliper brakes in the front and four-pot units in the back.

Take £30 million, create 250 jobs and end up with “tens of thousands” of new electric vehicles in the UK. This is the plan of the new company Liberty Electric Cars Ltd. Liberty announced today that it will be converting many currently-existing large luxury cars and 4 x 4s (SUVs) into electric vehicles - starting with Range Rover models - and sell them for between £95,000 and £125,000 ($187,000 U.S. to $246,000). Liberty Electric Cars made the announcement at the Eden Project Green Car Show.
The battery technology that Liberty will use in these luxury EVs was not disclosed, but it will be “state of the art energy storage and management systems” that will give the vehicles “extended driving range and shorter recharge times.” On the electric Land Rover, that means a range of around 200 miles. Whatever the system looks like, Liberty says it will offer the technology to other automakers. ETA on these expensive rides? N/A. More details after the break.
